When you are looking for a partner for voice and data services, you will almost certainly be given access to a portal, but how do you know whose portal would be right for you? What makes a good dealer portal? Consider the following:
What does it do?
As a dealer you will probably be preparing the quotation, with your supplier billing, supporting and paying you a monthly commission. Does the portal generate professional co-branded proposals that can be emailed to your customer and how easy is it then for them to review and place the order? Most dealers want to see recommended prices but with the option to change them as they deem appropriate. Can your supplier do this? Is it a straightforward margin share with automated commission or do you have to invoice for a percentage each month?
How easy is it to use?
Some portals are designed for quoting only, others for ordering only. Some have multiple portals for multiple products and the better ones will allow you to build multi-product proposals in one journey. Once you gain access you can quickly work out how to build quotes and place orders with some knowledge of the services provided. Can you build a quote containing multiple products and services in one system? How long does it take? What is the quote to order process? How easy is it to add extras or remove items?
What training and support are available?
With good product knowledge and a well designed portal you you may not need any training at all. If you feel that you or your team needs training, ask what resources are available. Suppliers that work exclusively with dealers and resellers will often offer online guides, videos, webinars and account managers you can call or who will visit customers with you or on your behalf.
Jola has just launched a new ordering portal for dealers. In our portal you can build co-branded, online sales proposals for connectivity, hosted voice and mobile SIMs in one portal. In just a few minutes you can send a detailed sales proposal to end users for them to review, change and accept, triggering the order provisioning process.
Our dealers can create quick, professional proposals, automatically generated, with full product descriptions included. We run regular training webinars covering full product and system training in 45 minute sessions. Any members of your team can sign up for these as often as they like. In addition, we have dedicated Account Managers running personalised webinars and visiting with dealers on-site.
