Need a phone system quickly?

Have you ever had a customer ring you up in a panic needing a phone system double quick?

It happens more often that you might think. Moving offices can be as stressful as moving house and with so much to think about telephony often falls through the cracks. Growing businesses with new starters and nowhere to seat them, often need to find premises quickly and be up and running in days.

How fast can a new phone system be delivered, installed and live?

Well this depends on the type of phone system, location of the new premises, available pre-installed technologies, availability of equipment in stock and how quickly companies can place orders, arrange delivery of equipment, install, train and go live. Traditional on-premise phone systems take several weeks to commission but with the right organisation a cloud-based alternative can be installed and working in days.

Jola supports end users via a channel of IT Support and telecommunications companies and we often get requests to fast-track orders.

2 working days is our record

We recently took a call late on a Thursday afternoon from one of our IT Support partners with a customer in Nottingham. He had sold his office space and needed to be set up with a new phone system in his new office ASAP.

The customer installed solar panels so had a mixture of office-based and site-based staff. He had one main telephone number, 6 extensions and 4 mobile devices. He was moving to his new office on the Monday.

The first thing we did was take the end user through a detailed site survey of his new location so we could see what was available. Luckily there was an existing phone line available for us to use and after a quick check we could see that fibre broadband was available too. We prepared a quote and the customer placed the order on the Thursday night.

On the Friday the provisioning team fast-tracked the broadband order with the carrier and configured the router which we keep in stock. We placed a fast-track order for the phones and chased up the suppliers to make sure they had placed orders their end and could meet the deadline.

On the Monday we did a few checks to make sure our suppliers were all still on track and our installations team went to the new office location with the pre-configured router, the phones and cables. By Monday lunchtime we had fibre broadband connected with JolaPhone working perfectly.

The main number had been forwarded to the new JolaPhone number until the number could be ported so customers could still ring in and order solar panels. We set up a simple IVR and a few options to get customers through to the right extension.

The staff had basic training on the key features of their new Polycom VVX410 phones and could make, receive and forward calls, put callers on hold and see who else was on the phone before transferring calls. We briefed our IT Support company on the portal to manage changes and run reports for their customer before we left at 2pm.
